DANNY RAYOS DEL SOL wears many hats. He is presently the head of National Commission for Art Galleries of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. He is also Curator and Visual Artist for ManilArt and the Annual Sculpture Review. He is also a humanitarian worker, a corporate executive and a resource speaker.
Rayos Del Sol is a self-taught artist. He believes in one thing that let him get by as an artist, to deal with art with reckless abandon. His medium is perhaps the most unique in Philippine sculpture today. He has takenthe traditional African art with his intricate carvings. A nichehe definitely owned alone up to now. His bodies of works, depict figures and patterns both original and derivative folk iconography. He weaves metal and wood crafting a and egg carving together to create unique pieces that showcase truly Filipino aesthetics.
